Rockabilly destination wedding in New Zealand
Who wouldn’t love a rockabilly destination wedding in New Zealand? Tim and Rachel did just that when they planned their dream destination wedding and I was lucky enough to get to tag along to photograph it! Destination weddings are my favourite part of the job, because I get to combine my two favourite things – travel and photographing people in love.
My talented and lovely friend Emma joined me for this destination wedding adventure and together we captured all of the fun, beauty and love of this wonderful day.
The wedding itself was held on Rachels childhood farm in Taupiri, which is a gorgeous little town near Hamilton on the North Island. The farm is surrounded by the rolling green hills of the Taupiri range and was a pleasure to visit.
Rachel and Tim had their nearest and dearest fly out from Australia to witness their “I do’s” in a heartfelt ceremony on the property. Followed by a marquee reception that included spit roast (yum!!!), home made condiments and freshly baked cookies in the shape of kiwi’s and shoes! The couple offered blankets to guests to snuggle up in beside the bonfire and the bride surprised her groom with an epic fireworks show! It was amazing and oh so much fun.
Tim and Rach’s wedding was also featured over on the ultra cool Rock N Roll Bride wedding magazine/blog! If you haven’t already checked them out for your alternative wedding inspiration, you should definitely do so immediately!
